The annual Memorial Day observance was held on Monday, May 29 at the Veterans Memorial in Frisco Commons Park by the  City of Frisco, the Frisco Garden Club, and Frisco VFW Post 8273.

The event featured a traditional flag and wreath laying ceremony, patriotic music, and participation by local scouts. The Frisco Garden Club and the VFW have been coordinating Memorial Day services in Frisco since 1994.

Memorial Day is an American holiday, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971.
