Color & Honor Guard
The Post 178 Color Guard provides visibility for the American Legion by presenting the Colors at grand openings, ballgames, schools, community events, and American Legion functions in Frisco and surrounding areas. The Honor Guard performs funeral and memorial services for area veterans and members of Post 178 upon the request of the family.
The Honor Guard is approved to perform funerals at the D/FW National Cemetery and has a bugle to play Taps, but does not have a rifle team.
Monthly meetings are held to practice, flag folding, marching, and rifle and flag commands.
Additionally, there is a service flag detail, who do not need the Honor/Color Guard uniform, that present the service flags at several of our events.
Please contact us for additional information, or to schedule our Honor Guard or Color Guard to present the Colors at your event.
