VJ Day September 2 1945
On August 14, 1945, it was announced that Japan had surrendered unconditionally to the Allies, effectively ending World War II. Since then, both August 14 and August 15 have been known as “Victory over Japan Day,” or simply “V-J Day.” The term has also been used for September 2, 1945, when Japan’s formal surrender took place aboard the U.S.S. Missouri, anchored in Tokyo Bay. Watch Duty – Traveling Vietnam Wall
The Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall will be in Plano, in the parking lot of Grace Outreach Center on the NW corner of Parker & Preston Rd, from Thursday September 8 thru Sunday, September 11, and we have been asked by Post 321 Plano to help provide “watch duty” while it is on display.
There are many time slots left without volunteers to pull a watch.
We are asking for 2 hours of your time for those who gave their all for our country. If you can pull a 2 hour watch please reply to one of the below for open time slots.

American Legion, Peter J Courcy Post 178 has been very active this Veteran’s Day starting on Nov 8th at the City of Frisco Community Parade which honors Veterans of Frisco. We are compiling a list of activities attended by our Members during November where Veterans were honored.
