FOR VETERANS AND MILITARY FAMILIES:
“BADGES OF HONOR” MEDAL EVENT MARCH 26TH
Folks living in the Third District of Texas have a proud, patriotic reputation, so it comes as no surprise that we also have a strong and active veteran community. Odds are that if you didn’t personally serve in the United States Armed Forces, you likely know a veteran or a current service member.
As a nation, we honor our faithful American veterans for defending freedom in many ways, including service medals. Sadly, many veterans and their families have trouble obtaining replacement medals if a medal is lost or stolen. Worse, some veterans never received their earned medal.
While my staff and I have worked with folks on this issue on a case-by-case basis over the years, not everyone knows that we offer this assistance. That is why my staff and I established the Badges of Honor Medals Event.
Later this month, on Monday, March 26th, we will be holding our next service medals event! My staff will be on hand to assist with the paperwork needed to begin the service medal request process. Third District veterans and their family members are welcome to come to the Plano District Office anytime between 10:00 am and 3:30 pm to start the service medal request process.
Please be aware that veterans needing assistance are asked to bring a copy of their DD214 form. In order to adhere to the Privacy Act of 1974, folks must also be prepared to sign a privacy release form.
Due to limited space, please RSVP by emailing Casey Quinn at casey.quinn@mail.house.gov or by calling my Plano office at 469-304- 0382.
If you are unable to attend the event and require assistance with earned service medals – or if you have any questions regarding the initiative or how to request assistance with veterans-related issues – please call my Plano office at 469-304-0382 so that we may coordinate a way to best serve you.
